Butchart Gardens is a stunning botanical garden located near Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and it's truly a must-visit for any nature lover or someone looking to be amazed by beautiful landscapes. Here's what you can expect as a first-time visitor:
History and Background: Butchart Gardens started as a quarry in the early 20th century and was transformed into a garden by Jennie Butchart, who had a passion for gardening and landscape design.
Layout and Sections: The gardens are divided into several themed sections, each offering unique displays of flowers, plants, and sculptures. Some notable areas include the Sunken Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, and Mediterranean Garden.
Sunken Garden: This is perhaps the most iconic part of Butchart Gardens. It was once a limestone quarry and has been transformed into a dramatic sunken garden with beautiful floral displays and cascading water features.
Floral Displays: Depending on the season of your visit, you'll encounter different blooms. Spring brings tulips and daffodils, summer showcases roses and dahlias, and fall features vibrant autumn foliage.
Activities and Events: Throughout the year, Butchart Gardens hosts various events such as fireworks displays in summer, concerts, and themed garden walks. Check their schedule to see what's happening during your visit.
Dining Options: There are several restaurants and cafes within the gardens where you can enjoy a meal or afternoon tea amidst the beautiful surroundings.
Practical Information: Wear comfortable walking shoes as you'll be exploring a large area. Consider taking a guided tour to learn more about the history and botanical highlights of the gardens.
Accessibility: The gardens are accessible for visitors with mobility challenges, though some areas may have steep paths. Wheelchairs are available for rent.
Shopping: Don't forget to visit the gift shop for souvenirs, gardening supplies, and unique gifts inspired by the gardens.
Photography: Whether you're an amateur or professional photographer, Butchart Gardens offers endless opportunities for capturing stunning photos of flowers, landscapes, and architectural features.

Skamania Lodge Review: Exploring the Beauty of the Columbia River Gorge
Buy a 12 mil tarp, cover just the roof and wax the rest. My rv is 7 years old and not one hint of oxidation or the white haze from fiberglass fading. I do two complete full details on my rv every year, meaning, full decon, buff and polish then a paint sealant and only cover the roof. A 12 mill tarp is 300% thicker that those "rv" covers. The roof is only cover for 5 months and left uncovered for 7. Roof is beautiful
Great advise
Germany our favorite country in Europe. Everytime we do Europe we always include Germany. Our favorite areas our the Mosel River, Rothenburg ob der Tauber and surrounding areas, and the area where there video was filmed. Hope you are able to go back and spend more time. Thanks for sharing.
@@user-il2py5ez8m we absolutely loved every minute of our time in Germany. We would go back in a second. Thanks for the details on other areas we definitely need to visit
Great review. I agree with most of your results. We use ours 50-60 days a year, and set up/tear down about 2/3 of those. One weak spot is the grommet on the nylon at the center. This popped on ours, which allowed the fabric to separate from the spider. What's normally a 60 second setup became 30 minutes! I was able to fix it with a fender washer, and doubt it'll ever break again. Another 'weak spot is that the bag does not hold up if you are constantly loading/unloading it on concrete. I'll replace ours sometime this year (just wear and tear). If you only set it up on grass, this probably isn't an issue. Love the walls. We have 5 of them, and in spring/fall/rain, they make a huge difference!
@@mnswamp thanks for the comment and for providing others with some details. We appreciate it.
I bought the CLAM based on this review (and your other one). I hate it. I received it today and followed the instructions and ended up getting it completely inside out. Support wanted me TO REMOVE EVERY SINGLE ROD, place the tent over the ladder and then reassemble the entire thing. They acted like this happens all the time and it wasn't a big deal (the tent is huge, there are tons of rods. It's a huge deal). On top of that the quality is questionable at best. I didn't have it long enough before i gave up and sent it back, but there was a lot of loose stiching on the tent and in the carrier so I am amazed yours has lasted so long. The only thing I can think of is they don't make them like they used to. I feel like I would be better off getting a cheaper chineese made one for less with the same quality. Anyone else looking at this based on this review, beware. It's not all rainbows.

What about the hot water tank. Should you fill it with the treated water? No one has gone through that in several different videos I have watched. Or should one drain the hot water tank and remove the plug and let it air out for a while.
This is my childhood going there and I am so excited because I am going next week
Such a fun park. Hope you have a great time.
Thank you, I am staying her in October. Enjoyed your vlog.. your wife is really cool. :)

You forgot to mention how easy the roof folds down even when you don't want it too. You have to buy a pole

Tours like this are always great to do on the first day of visiting a new city. I will definitely plan on taking this tour when I go to Victoria. Thanks
We really enjoyed it. Was great to get a feel for the City since we had never been there. Heck it was so good we would probably do it again.
Fish tacos, yuck. Don't care for them. Other people might, that's fine for them. What's in that fish soup? Haven't been to Yachats for decades. Beach is still there. Always great to explore. Stay safe.
Hi Connie. Thanks for watching and commenting. That soup had just about every seafood you could imagine. It was delicious as were the fish tacos. 🌮 😂
Green salmon not the same as it was...you can't even get Salmon plate there anymore. Horrible food choices, also coffee not what it was. We used to love eating there, won't go there if you paid me
Appreciate the review. We will take your advice and skip it next time we are back there.
Just to clarify, it didn't fold up or collapsed in 30-40mph wind? Thanks
It has only folded up on us one time and it was during a coastal storm with winds pushing 40 mph plus. Can’t ask for much better than that.
@adventuresofjandk thanks man for tbe clarifications...Will get a clam pavilion...with a 12.5ft diameter
Appreciate your personal views and opinions of the 3 beautiful hotels. Great addition to bucket lists.
Thanks Patty.
While this video is good for tourism, please stop spreading how beautiful it is. It will ruin this town, trust me I know! The locals will be forced out because they were invaded by the rich. It's just not worth it!!!
Thanks. We’ll keep that in mind.
My system developed an issue and I am not sure if it got into the water heater or not. Can I use this chemical to flush out the water heater as well?
I don’t know about that specifically. This is direct from their website. 1) Remove all water from tank and system by turning on water pump, opening tank drain valves and opening all faucets and shower heads. 2) After system has fully drained, turn off water pump, close all valves and faucets and shower heads. 3) Add fresh water to tank to fill it approximately 1/2 full. 4) Add appropriate amount of AQUA Water Tank & System Flush required for full tank capacity (1 gallon for each 100 gallons of tank capacity). 5) Add fresh water until tank is full. 6) Move boat or RV several times in order to disperse Water Tank & System Flush throughout water. 7) Turn on water pump and open all faucets and shower heads, keeping them open and flowing for about 3 minutes. 8) Close all faucets and shower heads and turn off water pump. 9) Allow the treated water to remain in the system for approximately 30 minutes, then turn on the water pump and open all fixtures, allowing them to flow freely for about 3 minutes before closing them and turning off the water pump. 10) Open the tank drain valves to completely drain the tank, which will now be clean and deodorized. 11) Close the valve and fill the tank with fresh water. 12) Turn on water pump and open all water fixtures to allow water to flow freely for a few minutes to remove Water Tank & System Flush from water lines. To prevent water from picking up taste or smell from tank walls or pipes, use AQUA Water System Conditioner. To maintain water quality, treat it with AQUA Water Treatment & Freshener every time you add water to the tank.
@@adventuresofjandk I just checked their site on Amazon and they do say in the Q&A area that is it safe for the hot water heater.
@@wiseitconsulting3858 perfect. Thanks for the info on that. I assumed that was the case but would never advise someone if I wasn’t sure.
